How to go to maintenance mode in aix?
Load the CD and boot the server into sms mode after that follow the below options to go to maintenance mode.

mode
ü 5.select
boot options
ü 1.select
install/boot device
ü 4.IDE
ü 1. IDE
CD-ROM
ü 3.
Service mode
ü yes (exit sms) you could see starting
software pls wait
ü type
1 (press enter to have english during
install)
ü 3.
start maintenance mode for system recovery
ü 1.Access
a root volume group
ü 0
continue
ü Select
the rootvg hard disk
ü access
a volume group and start a shell (OR)
ü 2.
acces this VG and start shell before mount FS
ü YOU
WILL GET A PROMPT NOW.
Note: If you do not have CD in hand then we can boot the system
into maintenance mode by NIM.
